The Apple of God’s Eye

HAPPY HEART DAY!!!

Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings. – Psalm 17:8

This past week has been frustrating. It started with my team losing the Super Bowl and me regretting going to a Super Bowl party. Why? Because once I got home, I had things to do before bed so I was up until midnight and it led to me being tired all week. If I had stayed home and watched the game, I could have been multi-tasking.

This was also the week leading into Valentine’s Day. I have no “Valentine” and I do believe in my subconscious mind as each day passed I became more frustrated and grouchy just because I chose to be frustrated and grouchy. I know Jesus loves me but sometimes a girl just wants to be noticed by a natural man. God did make us this way; to be physically attracted to each other and desire intimacy.

However, after spending this weekend working on my website and reflecting on my purpose, I realize that I am truly the apple of God’s eye and if I choose to rest in the Almighty’s arms, he will hide me in the shadow of his wings and provide contentment in this season of waiting.

I just read a post on FB from Our Daily Bread that says

Thankfulness is the soil in which joy thrives.

I am truly thankful for all that the Lord has done, is doing and will continue to do in my life. I searched the scriptures and found the verses below from Colossians 3:14-16

¹⁴ And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. ¹⁵ Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. ¹⁶ Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Lord, continue to keep me as the apple of your eye as I choose today and everyday to be thankful and carry gratitude in my heart.

Lord, continue to keep me as the apple of your eye as I choose to wear my God given name, JOY! As I operate with double joy…DESTAISJOY…daily I say thank you Lord.
