New Year’s resolutions are a thing of the past for me. I don’t resolve to just do a certain thing because it is the beginning of a new calendar year. Yes, I have vowed that 2016 will be my “Best Year Ever”. However that is based on a lifestyle and mindset change. Each day that I wake-up is a fresh start to get it right. As the Word encourages in Romans 12:1, I strive to give my body to God because of all God has done for me. A living and holy sacrifice—the kind the Creator will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship the Lord.
In order to have best year ever, you cannot copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (vs. 2). Yes, that is how you position yourself to receive more.
You have to re-engineer yourself. A Facebook (FB) friend is self-employed as a LifeStyle Engineer. What is that you might ask? Her public FB page says: Re-Engineer Your Thoughts Using the ARMOR of God. Start living by God’s Divine Design in your health, your relationships and your God assigned purpose. Well that is pretty self-explanatory to me and it sounds like just what is needed to position yourself to receive more.
Note the emphasis is on positioning yourself to receive more and not just receiving more. You have to do something in order to receive more from God. You can “stand still and know” when you meditate and pray, but once God has answered and given you instructions that it is time move; that it is time to act, then you have to get in position to receive what God has in store for you. You have to take the action steps to receive the blessing.
You may have to run forward while looking back so you can receive the pass that will ultimately lead to the touchdown. But to get the touchdown you have to hold onto the ball and keep running into in the end zone. You have to press against and past the opposition. You have to fight but if you are wearing the whole armor of God then you are prepared. You are in position for more.
We all have a God assigned purpose and to achieve it, we have to have a more mindset. My LifeStyle Engineer FB friend recently posted that “the Word says God will provide, not wait for a free ride”. As we start this new year we are making exciting declarations about what God is going to do. But are you positioned for that greatness. Have you started your car? Are you moving?
Are you positioned for more? As I sat in Intercessory Prayer on Tuesday night, I began reflecting on both the word more and the name Moore. The following acronym was revealed to me:
Move by
Operating in
Obedience &
Righteousness
Expecting…More from God as we give More of Ourselves.
Yes, 2 Corinthians 4:13-15 says that every detail works to your advantage and to God’s glory: more and more grace, more and more people, and more and more praise. That my friend is worth fighting for and I cry out now asking the Lord to send the rain for the expected harvest. I cry out asking God for more. More of God’s goodness and more of God’s grace.
Yes, we’ve been praying and we’ve been sowing. Now, we’re crying Heaven send the rain. Rain only matters to those who have seed in the ground. Those with seed in the ground are expecting more. Those with seed in the ground are in position to receive more. Lord we are waiting. Send the rain!!!
